Yankee Freedom II Website Design & Development
The Yankee Freedom II Dry Tortugas National Park Ferry is a family-owned business in Key West, Florida. They transport guests on their state-of-the-art catamaran from Key West Florida to Fort Jefferson. With a variety of day trips and overnight excursions, the Yankee Freedom II provides ideal opportunities for travelers to experience the Dry Tortugas National Park and Fort Jefferson.
The Yankee Freedom’s old website focused all its attention on the boat and trips offered but very little information was given about the Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson. Additionally, there were few opportunities for visitor interaction; therefore, guests were not staying on the site very long. Our goal was not only to show off the gorgeous Yankee Freedom II vessel, but also to help people learn about the fascinating Dry Tortugas, its history and its importance in the heritage of our country.
When designing the new site, we wanted to make it a top-notch resource of information on the Dry Tortugas. We began by playing up the beauty of the Dry Tortugas with an ocean blue color scheme and vibrant photos that continually change on the homepage. We utilized the information we gathered from research to showcase the amazing history of the area, facts about other national and state parks and the beaches in the Florida Keys. We also made sure the new site had an abundance of information that could be used as an educational resource for adults and children. We also added search capabilities, an Enewsletter, kids corner and installed blogs for Yankee Freedom and bird watchers.
The new site for Yankee Freedom II has been very successful. Average time on site went up by 19%. Number of pages per visit increased by 18%. Unique Visits saw an increase of 70%. And Google organic traffic went up by 295%.
